The Three Parallel Rivers Region

The four-corner region (northwestern YunNan, eastern Tibet, northeastern India ,
northern Myanmar ) features unique and complex geographical and geological characteristics.

It is the Southeastern Himalayan Range also known as the Great Rivers Region where the
Yangtze (China), Mekong (Vietnam), and Salween (Myanmar), running parallel to each other
for hundred of kilometer through the NaXi Homeland.

The region, listed as the 2003 UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, is known for its
dramatic landscape, biodiversity, and ethnic diversity.
