Sister Nationalities in LiJiang

The NaXi Nationality is one of the 55 Ethnic Minority Nationalities of China
and one of 24 Nationalities (including Han and Hui) in YunNan Province.

In LiJiang, 13 other nationalities live among the NaXi people. The 3 Sisters Legend
relates the NaXi, Zang and Bai Nationalities to the Yangtze, Mekong and Salween Rivers.
The Yi Nationality Autonomous County is located within LiJiang City.

The MoSuo People, a subgroup of the NaXi, lives in the LuGuHu Lake region.
Each of the nationalities has its own costume, language, festival and traditions
making LiJiang a most colorful and ethnically diverse region of China.
