DongBa Rites and Dances

The Old DongBa Teacher-priest is a professional person who presides
over all religious rites and ceremonies. He conducts sacrificial rituals,
scripture chanting and the DongBa dances. He is highly educated and enjoys
a high social status. His learning and position are passes down to his son(s).
While not performing his priestly duties, he works and lives like an ordinary
villager engaging in farming, herding, hunting, fishing, gathering and hand-crafting.
